Protovision Games (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you play Big Bang Smugglers (the “Game”).
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Display name — the name shown to other players in the game
- Email address — used for account authentication and recovery
Game Data
As you play, we collect and store:
- Game progress, including your ship, credits, sector location, and player statistics
- In-game actions such as trades, combat, missions, and galaxy activity
- Galaxy membership and corporation (corp) affiliations
Technical Data
We automatically collect:
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
- Crash reports and error logs (used to identify and fix bugs)
- Session records, including IP address and the general region derived from it (used for account security and moderation — never precise location)
- Server request logs — our servers automatically record the IP address and technical details of each request (used for security, abuse prevention, and operations). These logs are retained for up to 30 days, then automatically purged.
We do not collect your real name, phone number, payment information, or precise location.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain the Game and its servers
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure
- Save and sync your game progress across sessions
- Display your display name to other players in shared galaxy environments
- Identify and fix crashes and bugs
- Protect the Game against abuse, cheating, and ban evasion
- Improve game features and balance based on usage patterns
- Communicate important game updates or account information (via email, if necessary)
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Shared and Multiplayer Features
Big Bang Smugglers is a multiplayer game. By playing, you understand that:
- Your display name and in-game statistics (XP, rank, ship class, corporation) are visible to other players in your galaxy
- In-game actions such as combat, trading, and galaxy events may appear in the in-game feed visible to other players
Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate the Game:
Google Cloud
The Game’s servers and database run on Google Cloud. Your account and game data are stored in our own database there and processed only to operate the Game.
Google Firebase
We use Firebase (provided by Google) for:
- Firebase Authentication — account sign-in (email/password and Google sign-in)
- Firebase App Check — abuse protection that verifies requests come from genuine copies of the Game (reCAPTCHA Enterprise on the web, Play Integrity on Android)
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting on the Android app. Crash reports are associated with your account identifier and retained by Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
- Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymous usage analytics on the web version of the Game (page views, session counts, and device characteristics), used to understand overall usage. We do not use it for advertising.
Firebase may collect technical data in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account and game data for as long as your account is active.
You can delete your account yourself, immediately, from Settings in the Game — see Delete Your Account for details. Deletion removes your login and all personally identifying information. Anonymized gameplay records (season history, leaderboards, integrity logs) are retained with no connection to your identity.
Crash reports and server request logs run on their own automatic schedules — up to 90 days for crash reports and up to 30 days for request logs — and are not erased at the moment you delete your account; any residual entries purge automatically within those windows.
Children’s Privacy
Big Bang Smugglers is intended for players 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), request verification via Firebase App Check, and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (available self-service in the Game)
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Game after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
